Search Engine Optimization Tips; SEO Tips

There has been many updates by Google that affects ranking, so how do you work on Search Engine Optimization (SEO) after Google Panda updates.

If your site SEO was affected, you were most likely engaged in negative practices. Incoming Links do not calculate the same as they used to calculate, but do not think they are any less popular or affective in SEO.

Incoming Links and Links inside your site are still popular, but do not concentrate so much on how to manipulate Search Engines. Write unique content and provide informative posts and link to information that is important to readers. It is all about content that is beneficial to readers and it has to be Unique.

So many websites try to get hundreds of inbound links to their site in the hope it will put them on the first page of Google. You have to build links over time from sites that find your information informative. Random links mean nothing. It has to be links from sites that are providing additional information to their readers.

So, for site SEO, write unique content and provide linked content for your readers. You will build links over time and this is the best way to provide SEO for your site. Unique content over a period of time! Do not try writing for search engines if you care about SEO. Write for readers and search engines will follow, trust me!

GOOGLE FIRST PAGE RANKING FREE TRAFFIC

Search Engine Traffic for a Blog may be easier than what you think. I will show you how to get first page Ranking with an in depth look at how to Rank higher in Search Results. I am optimistic that this post will be within the first page of your search if you searched with Google with words like "first page ranking for Blog" or some dirivitive of that phrase. I am going to tell you the do's and dont's of achieving Google First Page Ranking, the importance of 1st page ranking, and the Free Traffic you receive from this spot.

The importance of being on the first page for a Google search is obvious, you gain more exposure for your Blog. Think of your own searches, do you ever search the 2nd page of Search Results? In my own experience, I may search the second page of results 10% of the time when I cannot find the answer on the first page, but I usually refine my search to find the answer for which I am searching.

So it's a No brainier that we all want to be on the first page of searches and enjoy the influx of Free Traffic from Google, but DO NOT write for a Search Engine. What I mean by that is, don't try overusing words just to think you will be ranked higher in results. I am NOT writing this article with an attempt to fool a search engine, but want to provide a power packed informative post that provides the reader benefits on how to achieve these results. When you write with the reader in mind, you will always Rank better than if you are writing for a search engine.

So the first don't; don't write for search engines!

Blogs sometimes have an unfair advantage over websites in ranking higher in search results. Blogs are constantly changing and updating information on a daily or weekly basis where most websites are put up and left alone for the most part. Websites may change information on a monthly basis in contrast to Blogs updating regularly.  If you keep the information current and fresh, you will always Rank higher with Google and other Search Engines.

The second key to Ranking Higher with your Blog is; update often or post often.

If you read any of the popular Blogs online, you will notice that they are consistent in their posting. If you cannot post daily, post at least once a week or twice a week on a consistent basis.

If you want to Rank on the First Page with your Blog, you must use keywords in your title and your post must stay on topic. Use the keywords that you want to target in a natural flowing way. I like to just write and not pay attention to keywords because your natural writing will bring out the best keywords for your topic and these are the best ones for naturally ranking higher in Google and all Search Engines.

The third tip is to use keywords, but let them come naturally.

I assume that everyone knows that you can buy first page ranking using Google Adwords so I won't dwell on this issue, but basically, the highlighted pages at the top and right side of the search results are paid listings. It depends on the Keyword and competition as to how much this position will cost you.

The 4th tip to see page one Google Ranking is to buy your way there.

Make sure your Anchor Text is relevant to your keywords and the terms in which you are seeking first page Google ranking. Anchor text is the clickable portion of a link and gains stronger attention for a page in search results. If you have any pictures on the page, make sure your Alt tag is on page topic to reinforce search guidance.

That gives us our fifth tip; make sure your tags are properly tagged to insure higher rankings in search results.

On your Blog, especially Blogger, make sure you have a good descriptive title for your article. If you have a website, make sure you have good Meta Tags, especially your title tags. In Blogger, if you have not already done so, change the code in your template to display your post title before your Blog Title. If you are using a newer Blogger template, this tweak or trick has already been performed for you. In Blogger, make sure you put a label with the post similar to the words you are targeting in Google Search.

The sixth tip is to properly tag, label, and link your article for top ranking.

After you have written your post, encourage others to link to your post so as to gain more exposure and also gain better ranking from these incoming links. Promote your post or page on forums and Blog Carnivals. Get the word out and it will spread quicker and gain more linking and will help move the post toward the first page Google search.

The seventh tip is to promote your post, not just your Blog, but your individual post.

If you are looking for First Page Ranking, Do not overuse Affiliate Links on this page.  Instead, if you are an Affiliate Marketer, Link to another page on your site to use Affiliates.  Keep your High Ranked and Optimized page clean and informative.  Affiliate pages do not rank as well as good informative pages, plus, there is nothing more aggrevating than being bombarded by Affiliate Links when you are trying to learn.

The Eighth tip for First Page Google Ranking;  NO Affiliate Links or Pop-Ups!

These are 8 tips of how to get your Blog or Website Page on First Page Google Ranking, but it really all depends on who Links to your Page.  PageRank has a huge impact on where your page lands and Google actually has the word PageRank Trademarked so they were the early implementers along with Stanford University and Larry Page who actually invented the idea.  Google paid Stanford University in stocks to use and Trademark the term PageRank.

Do Comments Help Your Ranking?

Comments, I am mainly looking at comments that you leave on other Blogs. So, does commenting on other Blogs help your rankings? Commenting on other Blogs should be one of those things that you do on a daily basis. When commenting, make it a useful and thought provoking quote, NOT an advertisement to come see your Blog. DO NOT try putting your Blog Link into the comment as most Blog platforms allow for a site link that will take care of that for you. Commenting may also get traffic from the Blog owner in which you left the comment. I have read good comments and visited the Blog to see what else they had to say. Commenting or visiting neighbors should always be a key component of traffic generation.

How To Get Non-Reciprocal Links And Improve Your Page Rank

How to Get Non-Reciprocal Links and Improve Your Page Rank
By Donald Nelson

Ever since Google began placing importance on its Page Rank system, website owners have been scrambling to get incoming links to their websites, usually through the means of trading links. Incoming links are important in the Page Rank system, because they are seen as “votes” for your site, and the more “votes” you get, the more important your site is considered, and the higher it is placed in Google’s search results. However, if you study the details of the Page Rank system you will find that not all incoming links have the same weight, and that the non-reciprocal links to your site, the one’s you didn’t have to trade for, are given more importance. So, website owners should also spend some time building up these non-reciprocal links. Here are five methods you can use in this effort.

1. Get your site listed in the major directories: The two most important directories at the present moment are Yahoo and the Open Directory Project (www.dmoz.org). Yahoo is the old stalwart of the Internet and despite the rise of Google, the addition of a hefty $299 fee, and changes in the way they display their listings, a link to your site from Yahoo’s main directory (and it’s regional variants) can boost the standing of your website much more than a few links from an obscure website.

The other major directory, the Open Directory Project is free of charge and is edited by volunteers. It is sometimes difficult to get a listing because they scrutinize listings and do not list sites that don’t offer original content. If your site consists only of affiliate links, then the editors will reject your application. In addition the volunteer editors have been unable to keep pace with the amount of sites to be reviewed and they can take months to process your entry. Compounding the problem are technical glitches which sometimes make it difficult to even submit the form. Despite the problems inclusion here is well worth your effort, and you should persist. Inclusion in both Yahoo and the Open Directory Project can mean the difference between a “page one” or a “page five” showing for your site in search results, especially in competitive categories.

2. Get your site listed in directories relevant to your particular product or service: There are many resource directories that serve particular areas of interest. If you offer software that would be helpful to webmasters, for example, then do a search for webmaster resource directories and you will find sites where you can add your URL. Do you have a hotel? Then, find travel directories, and apply to be listed. You will have to spend time, but once again persistence will pay off, not only in improvement of your page rank but listing in specific industry or product oriented directories will bring you targeted traffic—people particularly interested in what you have to offer.

3. Write articles for Publication on Other Web Sites: There are millions of websites on the web, and many are hungry for quality content. As you have published your own website and have something to offer, that makes you an “expert” in your particular field. Use this expertise to write simple, but useful articles in your field and send these to other webmasters. If they publish your article, they will include your “resource box” with a link back to your site. The link will once again boost your Page Rank, but just as importantly, it will establish you as an authority in your field and will help “brand” your product or service. You don’t have to write to hundreds of webmasters individually to get your article published, go to www.yahoogroups.com and do a search for “Internet Articles Publishing” and you will find many groups that will enable you to reach webmasters looking for articles.

4. Get Your Product or Service Reviewed by other Websites: Have you published an e-book or written software? Then offer a free copy to websites whose themes are similar to yours. If they write and publish a review, then you will get a link back to your site. In addition, you can publish their reviews on your own site, which will add a lot of weight to your own claims about the validity of your product or service. Look around for sites in your field and make your offer. In the process you will also build potentially important alliances.

5. Beef up the Content on Your Own Site: the original concept behind the Page Rank system was to try to highlight the websites that are really valuable, and offer something unique to the Internet. If you publish an Internet version of your company brochure, no one is going to link to you unilaterally. However, if your site is filled with interesting articles, reports, data and reference material then you will get links without even asking for them. You can add content to your site, by writing and publishing your own articles, the same ones that you will offer to other sites, as well as by publishing the articles of others. Once again, the article publishing groups at www.yahoo.com or sites such as www.articlecity.com will provide you with a wealth of material.

If you apply some of these methods you will not only get some high-quality non-reciprocal links but you will also boost the quality of your website in the process.

It is very easy. Go to Technorati.com and sign up, enter your blog in their directory and pick the terms (keywords) you think someone will type in to find your blog. Technorati is important because it is a very popular site and ranks very well in the search engines and has a great Alexa rank.

Backlinks; Drive Traffic To Your Site!

Backlinks are links from other sites that point to your site. Why are backlinks important? I can think of a couple of reasons.

First and foremost, if someone visits the other site, they could click on the link that brings them to your homepage. This alone will bring you some targeted traffic.

Second, and probably most important is for search engines. Search engines, especially Google, look at the number of links that point to a particular site. A large number of links pointing to your site makes a search engine think you have something important to say. Thus, ranking you higher on search results.

Something very important to remember though. The search engine looks at sites that point to your site with similar site content. For Instance, an automotive site with a link from a car parts site will rank you higher in search results. But, an automotive site with a link from hair care products may have no bearing or even a negative impact on the site.

Also, a backlink from a site ranked on the first page of Google will have more influence than a page that has no ranking or a low ranking. Choose your links wisely and dont go crazy exchanging links just to have them. This may hurt your site more than it helps you.

Drive Traffic To Your Site With Comments

Building a site or blog is an ongoing process. When you have it built, you want others to see it. There are many ways to drive traffic to your blog, but one method that many forget about is commenting on other sites. Have you ever been reading a blog and find yourself reading the comments on posts. There are times when you find comments more interesting than the blog itself. There are some things to remember though. Do not go around posting comments just to be commenting. Do so in a manner that lets everyone know you have read the post and are genuinely adding your ideas to the subject. Another thing, do not leave a comment that is an advertisement-otherwise known as spamming. Most all comment fields have a space to place your site url, this is suffecient.
I can say that I visit every site that leaves me a comment. I have found some very interesting sites by this method. But, any comment that is considered spam, gets deleted. Leaving a good comment will get you traffic. Most owners of sites will return your visit and leave you a comment along with many readers who find your comment interesting. So, check out some other blogs of interest and leave your thoughts behind and you will be discovered in the process.

Drive More Traffic To Your Website

Drive More Traffic to Your Website
By Ted Prodromou

Everyone wants to know the big secret to driving traffic to their website. Every day I see an article or an ad talking about driving people to your website. Driving traffic to a website has become the holy grail on the internet. People are realizing that if you build it, they wont come... unless you give them a reason. Website traffic just doesnt happen by itself. Your website is just one of many millions on the web and people rarely just stumble upon your site by accident.

There are many ways to drive traffic to your website. You can
buy traffic from vendors that will pummel your website with hits from automated programs. This will increase your hits but will it increase your bottom line? Probably not. You can set up blogs that spider (connect to) your website increasing your traffic count. Does this drive users to your website? Only if your blog is so interesting that people are reading it. There are thousands of blogs posted on the internet and your blog is just a needle in the internet haystack.

Another trick is to create RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds for your website and subscribe to other RSS feeds. This again will increase your hit count but will do very little to drive potential customers to your website unless youre providing valuable information. Tricks will increase your hit count but do very little todrive potential customers to your website.

A better way to buy traffic for your website is by using pay-per-click with Yahoo and Google. You identify the most common keywords associated with what youre offering and bid on those keywords. This can be a costly option if youre bidding on popular keywords but its a reliable way to generate highly targeted traffic. In my next newsletter Ill go into more detail about using pay-per-click advertising.

The best way to generate traffic for your website is to provide quality content that will solve your customers problems. People search the internet for information that will solve their problems. Write and post as many articles as you can on your website. If you don’t have time to write articles or cant write then hire someone to write the articles for you. You can have quality articles written by freelance writers at www.elance.com for practically nothing. The articles should be relevant to the problems your customers are experiencing and to the services you provide to solve those customer problems. Remember, its all about providing solutions to your customers problems. Check the How To Articles section on my website at www.valiss.com for more information about your website content.

The bottom line is that you cant trick people into finding your website. You must provide valuable information that solves your customers problems. Your customers dont come to your website to read your blog about how you spent the weekend. Theyll come to your website if they know they can find a solution to their most pressing issues. Keep your content fresh and relevant to solving your customers problems and in no time youll have plenty of visitors to your website.

Next time Ill talk about how you can use pay-per-click to generate targeted traffic and not spend a fortune.

8 Essential SEO Techniques

8 Essential SEO techniques
By Matt Colyer

1) Title Tag - The title tag is the most powerful on-site SEO technique you have, so use it creatively! What you place in the title tag should only be one thing, the exact keyword you used for the web page that you are trying to optimize. Every single web page should have its own title tag.

2) ALT Tags - ALT tags were meant to be for text browsers because the images didnt show in text browsers and the ATL tags would tell the visitor what its about. You should put your main keyword(s) in the ALT tags, but dont over do it because you could get dropped in the results or even worse banned for life!

3) Link Popularity - Link popularity is the most powerful SEO tool out of all them. Most search engines dont even consider web sites if there is not at least one or two links pointing to the web site. Having another site(s) link to your web site is important when it comes to getting your site a good ranking. Your keywords should be in the links you get and keep the keywords short. When you receive requests for a link exchange, check the site out before linking with them, check for spam (Repeat keywords, hidden text, etc.).

4) Keyword Density - This is also vital and should be used with research. You should use the keyword(s) once in the title tag, once in the heading tag, once in bold text, and get the density between 5% to 20% (Dont over do it!). Also use your keyword(s) both low and high on the web page, keyword(s) should be in the first sentence and in the last one.

5) Page Size - Your web pages speed is important to your visitors and the search engines. Why? Because the robots will be able to spider your web page faster and easier. Try your best to keep your web page over 5k and under 15k in size.

6) Rich Theme - Search engines are looking at themes more and more. Build content (Articles, FAQ, tips, etc.) much as possible and keep the web pages around 200 to 500 words. Create content thats related to your market and link them out to other related content on your site. Try to get 200 web pages or more.

7) Web Site Design - This is also important, if you want to get indexed! Text content should out weigh the HTML content. The pages should validate and be usable in all of todays leading edge browsers. Stay away from flash and Java Script, search engines dislike them both a lot.

8) Insite Cross Linking - This will help you get all of your web pages indexed by the search engines. Your web pages should be no more than three clicks away from the home page. Link to topic related quality content across your site. This will also help build you a better theme through out your web site. On every page you should link back to your home page and your main service(s).

Four Guaranteed Steps To The Top Of The Search Engines

Four Guaranteed Steps to the Top of the Search Engines
By Monica Corral-lorica

It is the goal of every website to be on the top of the search engine page results. The driving force behind this goal is the fact that search engines are the number 1 provider of website traffic not just traffic but targeted site traffic. The websites that are currently on the top of SERPs are those with higher ranks and quality content.

Why do these websites rank high on the search engines? They are on the position they are in right now because they have utilized web marketing strategies aside from their original content. If you want to have the same fate as these sites, then dont you think its time to start working on web marketing strategies too? After working on changes to your site, you must first wait until the changes have been indexed by the search engines. It is only until that time will you be able to evaluate whether the change you have made creates positive or negative results.

How can you make sure that your web marketing efforts will not be put in vain? What guarantee can you give your site that your strategies will have a constructive result? Here are the steps you need to increase your sites rank the guaranteed ways:

Quit tricking the search engines.
Search engines can identify whether you are playing tricks on them. Be legitimate in the strategies you are using. Search engines are most likely to penalize your site for tricking them. What do you need to avoid? There are a number of tricks to avoid including keyword stuffing, hidden text, search engine cloaking, duplicate sites and link farms.

Page Title Optimization.
What is a page title? It is the heading of the page that usually appears at the top of the browsers window. The page title should be relevant to the page itself. Each of the pages of a website must have a unique page title. Unique page titles will increase the chance for each of the pages to be indexed properly. There are cases where the search engines refrain from indexing the pages of a particular site thinking that the pages are just the same because they have the same page title. This is the reason why you should provide each page a unique page title.

Meta Tags Optimization.
What are Meta Tags? Meta Tags are the data you place in the HTML header of a web page. The Meta Tags provide information to the search engines. The information it provides is visible to the search engines but invisible to online users. To rank well on the search engines, optimize the Meta tags specifically the keyword and description tags. As much as you need unique page titles, you also need unique Meta Tags for your sites pages.

Search Engine Friendly Internal Links.
It is important that you establish internal links that are search engine friendly. In doing so, remember that the search engines can read html links easily compared to any other type of files. To allow better indexing of all the pages of your site, include a site map page. This will help the search engine crawlers and spiders to crawl every page of the website.

How long have you been asking for steps that guarantee higher ranks and better listing on the search engine result pages? Well, here they are. Follow these steps and see your site jump from one rank to the next until it reaches the top position!

Search Engine Optimization Explained

Search Engine Optimization Explained
By Ted Prodromou

Search Engine Listing And Optimization

In the world of website marketing, search engines are an essential key to success. They are the most important way to bring traffic to your website. Understanding how search engines work and what they require is an important first step to harnessing their marketing power.

The two types of search engines can be characterized as active and passive. An active engine utilizes crawl technology that constantly searches out websites, adds them to its database and creates listings automatically with what it finds. Passive engines require registration of your website directly with them and rely on editors to add your site to their directory. As search engines have evolved, many have adopted a combination of passive and active strategies.

Search engine optimization is the utilization of techniques that will assure that search engines find and include your website in their databases. There are proven methods to search engine marketing involving website design and content adaptation, and keyword strategy. The primary goal of these methods is to bring traffic to your site. The secondary goal is for that traffic to be targeted to your product. In the internet marketing game, exposure is essential. But marketing efficiency requires effective exposure to the right prospects.

SEO Copywriting; The Key To Keyword Articles

SEO Copywriting: The Key to Keyword Articles
By Tahjia Chapman

Search engine marketers are swarming to the internet in numbers, but many lack the ability to utilize keyword articles on their web pages. Now, companies are pursuing an answer for a key to keyword articles in order to attract more customers. With that understanding, keyword articles are very effective if they have the appropriate keyword density and short, informative paragraphs that interests visitors. Tapping into the search engines can be a bundle of work if the content lacks solidness for consumers to draw attention to a companys web site.

What is Keyword Density?

Keyword density is the number of keywords within an article, divided by total word count, and multiplied by 100. For example, the keywords phrase key to keyword articles in this article should exceed 1% when it is completed. Will it tap into search engines? There is a high possibility if my percentage was 5% or higher on a variety of pages on a complete site. There is more than one key to keyword articles, but density is number one for search engine optimization.

Why Must We Tap Into Search Engines?

Search engines such as Google, Yahoo!, and Lycos can make a break a company’s online presence because consumers use keywords for specific products while online. If small businesses lack traffic, the possibilities of increased sales are minimal thats why their keyword articles must contain decent density. Search engine optimization (SEO) writers have to conduct the proper research to compete with the other million web sites for top 10 ranks. High ranks in the search engines will not promise a larger consumer base alone, the keyword articles must be interesting for readers.

Increased Traffic or Inattentive Clickers

Companies must remember that a web pages content must be interesting in order to avoid click away traffic. Click away traffic pertains to inattentive surfers that will find web sites uninteresting and click every nanosecond. So, what happens once a company receives increased traffic? The keyword articles must be short, informative paragraphs in a style such as this one. For example, attentive surfers will find this article much easier to read than a page long paragraph with cluttered material. Companies must use this key to keyword articles if they want potentials to come back for more information. If a consumer returns, the possibility for increased sales may be on its way.

The key to keyword articles vary from situation to situation because the formula may be different for each company. SEO writers ability to tailor content to fit a companys needs should be number one. Keyword articles have an ability to flourish a web site or break it determine what is best for your company at the beginning.

The Importance Of Writing Content

One of the most important things to getting visitors to come to your site is writing quality content. If you are having a bad day and feel that you cannot give quality, dont write! Try it again tomorrow.
I have a blog titled Car Buying Tips To Save You Money. I started out writing an article a week, then every day, and now about every 3 days. It just depends on your writing habits, but dont feel that you have to be on a strict schedule. Yes, return visitors want to see new material when they return, but go for quality over quantity.

I receive about 50 hits a day with my money saving tips on car buying. There are some days I receive 300 and others it may only be 20. I really just write because I like writing. It is not that I am a good writer, I just enjoy it. Write about something you like and it will be better quality. That is my tip to get blog traffic for the day, write quality content. Thanks for reading.

Blog Carnival Link SEO

One of the quickest ways to get noticed by search engines is getting relevant links to your site. The best way to get quality links is to submit your articles to Blog Carnival. This is a site that lists blogs about specific areas of interest. When you submit your article to that specific interest, the site owner will give you a link along with many others that have submitted. They group all the listings together in a very professional way and promote that listing. You have a link involved so you also want to promote their site. This helps everyone involved. How they say, a win, win, solution. Write an interesting article, submit to the carnival that is about your topic, watch your links build. When you get an email that your entry has been added to the carnival, go check it out, blog about it, share it with friends, etc. The more attention you bring to the listing, the more it helps you. This gets you links which in turn will help you with Search Engines as well as links that browsers can follow to your site. Remember, more traffic means more money!

Secret Google SEO Tips

This is a GREAT Search Engine OptimizationTip that you will not see anywhere else. At least, not that I know of. This is something I have learned from personal experience from other sites I have designed. This is a tip to get your pages ranked well with the Google Search Engine.
When you design your pages, of course keep your readers in mind, but do not forget about the search engines. I have found that pages with statistical data get ranked well with Google. For instance, 75% of site owners give very little attention to Google Page Ranking, while 20% write only for Search Engines, and the other 5% write for people and search engines. Its this 5% that are making the most of their sites and getting the most hits!
Now, to the best of my knowledge, Google does not say anything about statistical data ranking better, this is just my experience. You can look up any phrase in Google and you will see data. Whether it is percentages, or prices, or other data. It seems that those pages are listed at the top. Try it out on your website and let me know if this helps your page rank. Of course, as you know, this will not occur overnight. It will take weeks and months for it to work.

Search Engine Marketing

First let me say that you should write for your audience and not the search engines. Now, with that being said, you will at some point have to consider Search Engine Marketing. To get major traffic to your site, you need the help of search engines.

If you ask 100 webmasters you will probably get 100 different methods of getting recognized by search engines, but they will probably all agree on one method. Quality links to your sites! If there is a site ranking well on Google and they link to a post you wrote, that will give you a favorable chance of getting ranked well. Now, will one link put you on the first page of Google? Probably not. You need quality links from numerous sites. First let me tell what I mean about Quality links. If someone who just started a site links to your site, it will not be as important as someone who has an established site with numerous pages that rank well. How do you get quality links? Write Quality posts! Search Engine Marketing starts with quality content. If you have excellent content, you establish readership, which in turn will develop return visits from readers. Return visits from readers gives you a better chance of ranking well with search engines. High rankings drives traffic to your site, high traffic helps your rankings with search engines. It is sort of a double edge sword, but the key is quality content.

Once you have established a site, start writing posts or pages and add to it daily. Dont write just to be writing. Write about meaningful ideas or subjects. Write about things you are passionate about. Sell the sizzle! There will be more ideas for Search Engine Marketing, but this is the foundation. Start here and we will add to it as we go.
